MDDC’s 2026 internship cohort gains hands-on newsroom experience
Six emerging journalists completed paid newsroom placements across Maryland and Delaware.
MDDC Press Association celebrated six interns who worked in newsrooms across Maryland and Delaware during its 2026 internship program. The paid, eight-week placements gave participants direct experience reporting, photographing, editing and producing journalism for local audiences.
The program pairs emerging journalists with working newsroom teams and expects interns to build a substantial portfolio, including roughly 35 to 40 published clips. Participants also receive training and professional connections that can help launch a career in local media.
